The Slate is a single-storey, completely open and unrestricted 650 square metre space, and because it’s exclusive it will be completely yours to use and make your mark on, however you wish. Free from distraction, free from interruption and complete free reign, a space that becomes truly yours. With complete exclusivity, your only restriction is your imagination; walls up, walls down, drive a car through it. We can make anything possible.

The Slate, has a BREEAM Excellent rating for sustainable design, construction and operation – only one in ten of new commercial buildings achieve an Excellent rating, making ours one of the greenest in the country. And with our 700 acres of rural parkland, even the views outside are green.

Our extensive catering offer is designed to keep your team alert and energized; whether you need a light snack or a special banquet, we’ll make sure you have a menu to match. If that wasn’t enough all our food is Food for Life accredited by the Soil Association, so it’s good for you, and the planet. Not only is our food green, we’re pretty green too. We are accredited by the Meetings Industry Association to a gold standard level.

You’ve taken people away from the office to think outside the box. So why put them in a box that looks like the office?

Gather a creative huddle round the table in the kitchen.Or brief up to 1,200 in one of our lecture theatres. In the brainstorm room, imaginations can run wild – it’s one big chalkboard. Our Mead Gallery provides a blank canvas for art and exhibitions. And the informal boardroom is perfect for relaxed exchanges.

 

2. Amazing People

We don’t think of our people, as our people. We see them as yours. Whatever you want, they’ll work as an extension of your own team, bringing a wealth of experience and creativity to help you use our resources to achieve your goals.

Together our team will make anything possible, not just in terms of your event brief, but also by generating team building ideas, creating an enticing (and energising) menu and even arranging fun on and off site. Warwick Conferences new venue identity revealed ahead of first corporate event

We are thrilled to announce our £5.3m venue on the University of Warwick campus will be known as The Slate.  Following completion, the 650sqm blank canvas space will welcome its first corporate client – a financial company - in early December.

The Slate was chosen as the name of the new venue due to its association with natural materials and an ecological approach, which fits with the BREEAM standards of the building architecture. It also conveys a sense of a place where clients can make their mark, reflecting the individuality and flexibility of the space.

The name “The Slate” perfectly represents the premise behind the venue – a sustainable and highly flexible blank canvas space, which can be adapted in whichever way is necessary to provide the exact experience a client is looking for.

Warwick Conferences awards success continues

Warwick Conferences are celebrating after winning the Business Tourism award at the second Coventry and Warwickshire Tourism and Culture Awards 2016, which took place on Thursday 22 September at The Ricoh Arena.

Fourteen awards were presented at the awards ceremony, which showcases the wide range of attractions, venues and experiences on offer in the Coventry and Warwickshire region. The awards are organised by the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce and Quidem.

We’re proud to announce we claimed the prestigious Business Tourism award, beating off stiff competition from Culture Coventry and The Ricoh Arena.

How can a venue with healthy architecture make a difference?

Numerous studies have shown that a building can both positively and negatively impact on a person’s health, particularly the powerful effect of architecture, through elements such as space, light, geometry and materials.

Surrounded by trees and landscaping, and in a lakefront location, our new venue features a striking full-length glass wall, opening onto a suspended deck that overlooks the water. This offers significant natural daylight and allows delegates to feel closer to the natural world – which itself is known to help reduce stress and boost positivity levels.

Warwick Conferences won the prestigious Best Conference Venue Customer Service (up to 600 delegates) award at the Conference Awards held at Tobacco Dock in London.

In total, 21 awards were presented recognising teams, innovation, facilities and customer service in the conference sector. Warwick Conference scooped the Best Conference Venue Customer Service (up to 600 delegates) award beating off stiff competition from other finalists.

The award demonstrates our ongoing commitment to develop guests and delegates experience and provide unrivalled customer service levels.

New feature rooms at Warwick Conferences

We realise that the world is changing. People’s conference, training and meeting needs are changing too. Serving those needs isn’t simply about delivering four walls, a flip chart and some food, but delivering an experience. That’s why at Warwick Conferences we are breaking new ground through the vast £750,000 investment we are making in our Scarman Training and Conference Centre.

The corridors will be themed to bring the “outside in”. Reflected by abstract materials such as synthetic grass and impressive CGI imagery, the intended effect will be for delegates to feel inspired by their surroundings and to encourage creative and resourceful thinking.

In addition, 13 of the venue’s meeting and syndicate rooms will be refurbished to meet the current demand for more flexible, adaptable spaces.

Two informal boardrooms and a range of creative idea spaces will replace the standard set-ups and break out areas, along with the implementation of a kitchen unit within one meeting room and one syndicate room. These relaxed and ‘Let’s do Lunch’ spaces will allow clients to both eat and meet in an environment that moves away from the formality of a typical boardroom, helping to break down boundaries and foster creativity among delegates.
